Yankee candle company

Never really wondered that u cld make a huge business by just selling candles....
had never even thought that candles cld have so many fragrances.....mango to lemonade to licorice to mist to ocean to cool breeze and god knows how many more.....

all this and more at the Yankee candle company.....http://www.yankeecandle.com/cgi-bin/ycbvp/retail.jsp
initially i thot it was some kind of an educational tour to visit a candle factory but i was wrong....more than education it was fun....the store is huge with so many themes around.

you clds literally spend a whole day at this place. they have demos on making candles of different shapes with and without moulds. u can also create your own coloured candles....worth a visit this place...

then went to a beach....2nd beach in as many weeks. the beaches didnt have a big shore....u cld swim right from the start of the sea.....bbqs around the place, though beaches are not my favourites i seemed tp like them here....

Tequila shots

After yet another return from New York, I had 2 tequila shots....
just to try it out....well nothing happened.....not that i was hoping to get on a high....
met Sai this weekend after almost 2 years......was nice to catch up with him, Ankita Prasad(she had come over for the weekend from Austin), Poothia and Shwetha. Sai doesnt seem to have changed except for the physical appearance.....he has lost more hair than me!!!!
Sai got us to good thai restaurant and then amazing dessert('dizzert' as he wld like me to pronounce it)...
we then thought of watching a concert at central park but it wasnt so good. so after spending some time there we went for a movie....'Must Love Dogs'- a romantic comedy....Ankita's choice and a good one too.
I still need to find out why she is scared of me.....

Anyways....
hoping to catch up with a few more people in the coming weekends....

Walmart

Had been wanting to visit this place ever since I read 'Made in America'.....
I was overwhelmed by Sam Walton's(he started Walmart) strategies. and indeed it pays to implement those....
Its a huge huge store with almost everything that you need.....and prices are comparatively lower than its other competitor stores. Cheap but Bulk selling makes money i guess.....

Amazing hospitality they have.....u are just tempted to buy from them....

Heat...

After the records being broken, there was a sigh of relief on sunday evening. The temp was just arnd 30-32 degrees.
The temps here in bbsr reached to arnd 47 degrees. Purulia in WB recorded the max temp at 51 degrees.
Each year the temps are just climbing and more and more people die.

In Orissa, people die of heat waves in summer, of floods in monsoon, and sometimes of the extreme cold in winters. Strange ways of mother nature.

Antakshari..

We had antakshari in office(Infosys, bhubaneshwar) yday. It was like getting back to old college days. With a lot of support for each team and the common cheering and booing, it was fun to be there.
Seemed like one of the college fests with a vociferous crowd. Although i had attended events at office earlier in other places, never saw anything like this.
Guess, the smaller offices have a closer bonding among people.
But then the big ones have their own charm.

was at this play yday at Rangashankara......an awesome theatre....has a cafe also which is open irrespective of whether the play happens or not....a nice decent place....

the theatre is just awesome....and mind u...they are really strict abt the timings as well....the doors close at 7.30 if it says 7.30 on the tickets.....

abt the play.....it was a stand up comedy.....something catching up in India but definitely nowhere compared to the foreign standards......the one liners were mostly the ones which keep repeating in the never ending chain mails......some of the jokes were 'horribly' perverted.....didnt like the play at all....

but considering that these guys do theatre as a passtime they were ok......they have a long way to catch up with the veterans....Jameel Khan for example.....one of the best solo comedy performers i have seen on stage.....(watch 'manto ismat haazir hai', play directed by Naseerudin shah)....

Happened to watch this movie on the CD, thanks to the people who dont want it to be released in the theatres.
Tells the story of the Bombay bomb blasts through 2 characters, the investigating police inspector and one of the accused men.

A good narration and a good screenplay. Apparently, the script for this movie took longer than those of Satya and Shool.

Has an amazing soundtrack......Indian Ocean once again at their best.
Ruk ja re bandhe.....a must listen...
also the 'pre bomb blast' is a good jugalbandhi....

Hi all
i am finally back from my hols. I had been home for around 3 weeks for a much needed break from this place. Home sweet home, didnt feel like coming back here but then kya karen....
At home it was just lazing around or roaming around the town(no its too big a town)
Met with some old friends and was happy to see that none of them have changed at all.
Not even a bit, so what if he is an IIT topper, graduated from MIT, currently doing research in Harvard. And another one working in Mckinsey after graduating from IIT. This was just to show that i have been in an elite company. Someone had to balance them out and I am always there to do such work along with a few more.
We had a great time there during new years, reliving the old school days. Sai, Ruchi had also come.....:)
Being treated at home like a king is a different experience. And now i am bak here leading a normal life.
hmmmm......nice vacation it was.....am already looking forward to the next trip home.

http://www.planetaryinvestments.com/
surprised....but this is not a joke. U can actually buy land on the moon.
and there are over 1,125,000 lunar land owners from 176 countries around the world.
The sale of lunar property has been ongoing for 22 years by the Lunar Embassy, which is THE ONLY COMPANY in the world to possess a legal basis and copyright for the sale of lunar, and other extraterrestrial property within the confines of our solar system. Lunar Embassy has authorized PlanetaryInvestments.com to sell Lunar Property exclusively. No other website is authorized to sell lunar property!
When some people cannot afford to buy a roof on earth we have so many of them buying land on the moon. Man is the most amazing species.....

brilliance.....this one word sums it all.....srk is 'back' with a bang....
His liveliness is equally matched with the pain he is undergoing........ He is a master of emotions......a 'candyfloss' image, as the media terms it.....
Naina Catherina Kapur played by Preity Zinta was also beyond expectation. She plays the character to pure perfection. Saif Ali Khan, who can forget him after DCH, and once again he proves that his comic timing is the best among the ones in business.
The movie makes you laugh and cry at the same time, much expected from a srk-karan johar movie....
As Sai would have said, it re-establishes ur faith in the institution of love.....
The songs are good and the dances to the music.....an excellent entertainer.
But, the best part of the whole 3.5 hr movie is the 5 sec glimpse of KAJOL.....
wow...she is a goddess....no one can beat her....enjoy the movie folks
